Met on SGS!!!
I am a non-smoker
I don't touch the stuff
Currently in college
I would like to have children one day.
I was saved during my senior year of high school, after a long period of rebellion. I can't pinpoint a specific date, but that doesn't bother me in the least. I know that during that year of sitting under the Christ-exalting, gospel centered preaching of Dr. Alan Cairns, my whole mindset towards things of God changed completely. God became very big and I felt very small for the first time in my life. I cast myself completely on the finished work of Christ, and I continue to do so today. It is the life, death, and resurrection of Christ and his ongoing intercession for me that bring me hope, not a date written in my Bible. I thank God for choosing to love and redeem a wretch like me, and knowing that he loved me long before I loved him, and in fact hated him, is one of the most thrilling and humbling truths.

The doctrines of Grace are what led me to salvation, and I don't say that lightly. I grew up in a very mixed church background, but the majority of the churches I visited were very Arminian and emphasized decisional Christianity. I always got the impression that my salvation and sanctification were largely up to me. God would cheer me on and give me a pat on the back, but in the end, I was in control. In other words, man's works were emphasized far more than God's work in man.

It was only after hearing the doctrines of grace presented clearly that I began to understand that it was not about what I had or hadn't done for God, but what God had already done for me in the finished work of Christ. I began to realize that I had been wading in a kiddie pool of truth, when in reality, God was a vast and deep ocean that I had just barely begun to understand. When God's sovereignty became "big" in my thinking, and God's work in me, that I was truly born again. I realized my salvation did not depend on me, but was firmly in the hands of someone far more capable than I, almighty God.

I try to pray and read my Bible before bed. I am not a morning person, and I'm usually to groggy to read in the mornings. I am currently reading in John and the latter half of Isaiah.
There are so many, but I really identify with the apostle John. It may sound strange, but from what I know of him, he was very much like me. If only I loved Christ as much as he did.
When I first filled this out, I said I was content to be single because it sounded more spiritual. Honestly, I cant' say I am. Do we pursue anything if we are content with out it? I am actively seeking a wife, so I suppose I'm not content being single. I believe marriage is God's best, and it's not good for man to be alone!

This is hard to summarize, but I will try.

Vocationally, I am passionate about using any means possible to communicate the gospel, but primarily using the powerful medium of the internet. I help churches and ministries with web design, and write for several Christian news outlets. I want to continue to use whatever talents I have for God's glory, whether that be through art, writing, radio, or the internet.

  • God's saving and sustaining grace
  • A loving family
  • God's constant provision
Paul Washer, A.W. Tozer, Dr. Alan Cairns. All godly preachers who have influenced me through their preaching which I've heard through the internet.
"I have learned to bless the wave that crushes me against the Rock of Ages."
Charles Spurgeon

"The one concern of the devil is to keep Christians from praying. He fears nothing from prayerless studies, prayerless work, and prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks at our wisdom, but trembles when we pray."
Samuel Chadwick

"If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me."
Robert Murray M’Cheyne

"I preached as never sure to preach again,
And as a dying man to dying men."
Richard Baxter

"I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. The need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God; it changes me." C.S. Lewis in "The Shadowlands"

"If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don't like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself."
St. Augustine

"The good that you love is from Him; but it is good and pleasant through reference to Him, and justly shall it be embittered, because unjustly is any thing loved which is from Him, if He be forsaken for it."
St. Augustine

"For whithersoever the soul of man turns itself, unless towards Thee, it is riveted upon sorrows, yea though it is riveted on things beautiful."
St. Augustine

“The tragedy of life and of the world is not that men do not know God; the tragedy is that, knowing Him, they still insist on going their own way.”
William Barclay

"Love always involves responsibility, and love always involves sacrifice. And we do not really love Christ unless we are prepared to face His task and to take up His Cross."
William Barclay

"Faith is not only a commitment to the promises of Christ; faith is also a commitment to the demands of Christ."
William Barclay

“We have to de-feminize the church. That doesn’t sit well with a lot of people, but we must. Many times women must take over the roles specifically given to men in the church, in the family, and everywhere else because the men simply will not be men.”
Paul Washer

“The entire object of true education is to make people not merely to do the right things, but enjoy them; not merely industrious, but to love industry; not merely learned, but to love knowledge; not merely pure, but to love purity; not merely just, but to hunger and thirst after justice.” -John Ruskin

"Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh."
W.H. Auden

"It's strange that words are so inadequate. Yet, like the asthmatic struggling for breath, so the lover must struggle for words."
T.S. Eliot

“Love is friendship set on fire”
Jeremy Taylor

I have experience in a lot of different fields, but here's what I'm doing now:

  • Publicist with Special Guests: I help connect guests with talk show hosts who want to interview them.
  • Web Designer: I am a freelance web designer, helping anyone and everyone, but mostly ministries, get online.
  • Master Control Operator: I work at VCY America, a Christian radio network, on the weekends. I monitor all 23 + stations in the network and record logs of their performance.
I love all the jobs God has provided for me, and I look forward to what he has for me in the future.

I read a lot and usually have 3 or 4 books in progress at any given time. I also love to be out in nature, but since I don't live in the country, I usually have to settle for a walk in the park. I like to take day trips and visit interesting places like museums, landmarks, national parks, and that sort of thing. Photography is also a hobbby, and I love to take pictures of anything and everything.
I was born in Wisconsin. I've been to Mexico, Niagra Falls, New York City, England, France, and lots of states in the U.S. I love to travel!
Wisconsin will always feel like home to me, but if God leads me elsewhere, I am willing to move.
Airplane Rides, Archery, Astronomy/Stargazing, Auto Racing, Boat Excursions, Bowling, Canoe/Kayaking, Go-Kart Racing
I'm going to marry the most amazing woman ever and I met her on SGS!

I think your salvation story is very moving. God is good! Also, that's very cool that you are into art and web design and such. I love art, and my dad does some web design.
