I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home. God has drawn me closer to Him throughout my life. I attempt to follow Him. The path He's led me down has certainly surprised me sometimes. |
|
I am staggered by God's grace to us when I take the time to really think about--and I don't do that often enough. |
|
I, sadly, vary in my quiet time. There are stretches where I'm very faitful and times when I am less so. I enjoy reading books by Christian authors durring these times. I have read most of C.S. Lewis' work. I loved The Signature of Jesus by Brennan Manning and A Long Obedience in the Same Direction by Eugene Peterson. I regularly reread Cloister Walk by Kathleen Norris. |

I live a full and wonderful life as a single person. I am not unhappy. I am not desperate. But I would like a companion on this journey. |

friendly, smart, hard-working, joyful |

My closest friends love to laugh. I am a joyful person and if you do not get a kick out of the silly things in life, we just won't get along that well. I am also very curious about life. I question and wonder and think. A lot. So I enjoy people who are also thoughtful and enjoy digging in to interesting intellectual concepts. |

A former coworker who challenged me, and everyone he met, to make a difference in the world. He was great at recognizing people's gifts and quietly but gently insisting they use those to make a difference in the kingdom. He did not understand why anyone would hold back when others were in need and he managed to infect me with the same passion. |

Two favorite scriptures: Ephesians 3:20 "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more..." Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is being sure of what we hope for..." The first reminds me that God can do amazing things. The second reminds me that I need to trust in God even when it doesn't make sense. |

Love my work! |

Travel, working on the house, gardening, reading. I'd love to do more water sports and snow skiing, but I live far away from both water and mountains. Sigh. |
|
I've traveled through most of the U.S. and Europe. I've been to Israel, India and Nepal. I have a long list of other places I would like to go |
|
| Baking, Berry picking, Camping, Cards, Puzzles, Board Games, Gardening, Music, Reading, Skiing/Downhill | |
Berry picking is an Activities/Interests option? Seriously? Who decides what makes it on the list? I chose it because it was there. I can't say I go berry picking all that often, but I am a pretty good berry picker and love berries. Perhaps that will become my new hobby. |

There are a lot of questions here, but I have trouble getting a read on people from the answers people give, so I thought I’d share a little more. A little more about me: I make the best monster cookies ever. My banana bread is pretty good too. I like sharing both. Someday I want to take the train through Russia and into China. But that’s on my list after the Greek Islands and Istanbul. The pyramids are on the list after Russia/China. Machu Picchu is on the list somewhere too. I planted a peach tree this year. I voted for Obama and would do it again. (I suspect I lost some of you there) Why this vote? Among other reasons a shopkeeper in India asked me to. Honest. I once had a party where I asked all the guests to bring Jello. Turns out there is such a thing as eating too much Jello. But boy did we have fun. I believe marriage should be a partnership. I like reading biographies, particularly biographies of ordinary people. It goes along with my love of people watching in airports and other such locales. People are fascinating. |
