I was three years old when I told my parents that I felt I needed Jesus. Since then my life has seen steady growth spiritually, but the largest has been in the last four years: the years preceding and during college. Today I feel more humbled than ever and yet looking back can see that there has been growth and that keeps me encouraged. I'm thankful that all of my faults were not revealed at once, or I should have despaired and am, through God's grace, working on correcting those that are daily revealed.
Radically impacted me. Knowing that we have a sovereign God who is in control of the universe and yet also is in control of the minute details of my life amazes me yet at the same time fills me with comfort. This is a topic that I enjoy bringing up with friends and hope to be used as a tool in getting more young people interested in Reformed Theology.

*EDIT*

Yes, my wife and I do every morning and evening. It is a huge blessing to be able to have family worship together. Additionally we each have our own reading and prayer time and I think it is enriching to the both of us.

That's a tough one, but quite possibly Joseph. Though he had been through many trials, he acted in the most Christianly manner, being willing to forgive and rely upon God, knowing that He had a plan for his life and trusting in that.

Let's say that I'm trying to be content. Marriage is something I've desired for many years but hopefully I'll learn to be more in love with Christ and willing to devote my life to Him and serve Him first and foremost. I think that has been what I've been taught the last couple of years.

*EDIT*

This is irrelevant now but hopefully it will be of some encouragement to someone. I'm happily un-singlefied now!

Studious, hard-working, dry humor, hopefully fun to be around. Electrical Engineering nerd. Theological nerd. I don't know, you'll have to ask them... Wink

My Christian walk. I am grateful to have the opportunity to study near a wonderful church and to be able to devote so much of my time to biblical and theological studies during this point in my life.

*EDIT* Now I enjoy spending time in the evenings with my lovely wife, we're working on republishing books (see the website: http://texset.com) and have finished some old books on King Arthur by Howard Pyle and have also been working on the unabridged version of Foxe's Acts and Monuments (abrided as Foxe's book of Martyrs). It's a giant project, two and a half times as long as the Bible.

God's good gift of sending His Son. My family for training me "in the way I should go." My church and the godly people I've been surrounded with.

*EDIT*

I am very thankful for the wife God has given me, it's a blessing I cannot stress enough.

I enjoy traits of hospitality, compassion, sincerity in listening, and a willingness to listen even if you think you have something better to say. I hope I reflect these same traits of character. I also greatly enjoy wit (having little of my own), humor, and love for God. In some ways I'm serious-minded but I certainly have a good time playing around with my friends.
Possibly one of my elders. He has met with me in studies through various books and given me a lot of insight into my own life and studies. Through him I've been introduced to several authors that have also been very influential in contructing my thinking.
"You sly dog, you got me monologuing!" -Syndrome from The Incredibles; "What?! Strong Bad told me it was sour CREAM and The Cheat hair" - Homestar Runner in response to hearing that Strong Bad had given him cottage cheese and The Cheat hair. "; "Reality, in fact, is always something you couldn't have guessed. That's one of the reasons I believe Christianity. It's a religion you couldn't have guessed." - CS Lewis; "For a man who was slow of tongue, he talked a lot." -Tevye, speaking of Moses ; "The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved." - Matthew Henry, from Augustine. "Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep." - Psalm 127:1,2

Currently I'm working for another engineering firm in the area who does contract work for the military. It's been a good experience and I'm very glad to be able to work under some engineers who are far more knowledgeable than I am and who can teach me.

*EDIT*

Still working there as a Systems Engineer (Electrical Engineering).

At this point, my hope is to raise a family, hold family worship regularly, see my children grow up loving the Lord, love my wife (a companion and friend) and spend as much spare time as I can with her, and serve the local church body wherever I am. I have considered seminary and missions as well but right now neither seems to be a strong direction.

*EDIT*

My wife and I are expecting our first child so it looks like parts of this wish are coming true. Long-term goals remain much the same!

I really enjoy reading. I have begun collecting theological works (mainly Puritan authors) and most recently have been reading about the old Princeton Theologians. Absolutely amazing men.

Born in California, moved to Oklahoma four years ago. I've been to the Philippines, Mexico, Canada, and Northern Ireland and quite a few of the states. It's an amazing world that God has given us, even as fallen as it is. Northern Ireland was quite possibly one of the prettiest places that I've been but I still have a soft spot for my "native" mountains in California. I grew up near Yosemite National Park and loved to hike: a brilliant combination!
Some of my family is still in California but I don't know them well. My immediate family is in Oklahoma and unfortunately I don't see them very much during school year. I don't have problems relocating for the most part, though I feel strongly about being near a Reformed Presbyterian church.

Ultimate Frisbee anyone? I love backpacking, also fencing (with foils, not barbed wire) when I can, unfortunately Oklahoma doesn't have much of either.

added March 24th Update: Perhaps as a better use of this space: As an additional note, my goal in life is that my life would bring glory to God. I desire to serve foremost in a local congregation, perhaps as an elder one day. My goal is to raise a family and be a loving husband and father. A high-paying job doesn't attract me, what does attract me is a good community with a great church. The importance of a good church cannot be overrated. Additionally, though I originally came from a Baptist background (and understand their position very well) I have strong affirmative convictions on: Exclusive Psalmody, Infant Baptism, covenant theology, and Sabbath keeping. I was homeschooled myself and desire to homeschool my children, should God ever bless me with any. I fully agree with the Westminster Confession of Faith as a good summary of the Christian faith and reject Federal Vision teachings. There's a lot more but that's a good starter.

I have been asked by our local session to previously teach a course to the teens in the church on Pilgrim's Progress (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and have also taught, for the last two summers, the children's Sunday School ages 5-7 or so, again which I thoroughly enjoyed. More recently I had the opportunity to teach a Sunday School lesson to the adults class on God's decrees. In each of these I am quite certain I benefited more than my hearers. I also bring Jell-O to all church luncheons ;)

The last four semesters I have been a teaching assistant for Circuits. Since all the engineers (not just EE's) go through this class, it has enabled me to get to know nearly every engineer going through the program in some way. I really enjoy helping people out and I've been told that I'm very patient and good at this. Nothing makes me happier while tutoring than to see a student brighten up as he/she understands a concept. It has also afforded me a few opportunities to talk about my church and the Bible to some of them, which is also very good.

My pastor's son is interested in filming, so I did a few short films with him. Some of them are up on Youtube. Check out the sequels as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMLNuCnwptI
