I don't recall ever not knowing Christ. I was taught the Word from the time I was very small, and believe that I was called from my youth. I am not without my struggles, but am blessed to be in a solid church that preaches Scripture faithfully. I seek to please the Lord in my daily life and pray that I will continue to grow in Him.
It is humbling to know that Christ called me, a sinner, to Him. It causes greater appreciation for the great gift of salvation--it truly is a gift.
I am currently reading Acts in the mornings.
I favor Ruth and Naomi in the Bible. I believe that this is because I tend to relate to their story. My mother and I have been on our own for awhile. I admire the courage of Naomi in caring for Ruth and of Ruth in heeding the counsel of her elders. They both found themselves in difficult positions, but trusted the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through it all.
The greatest desire of my heart is to be a godly wife and mother. After all, God created Eve for Adam!
Persevering Devoted Honest Straight-Laced (I don't like to break the rules) Sigh, some say that it means I am boring. (These were provided by mother, but the parentheses were mine!)
My family (husband, extended, daughter, and expected son), and the children that I teach piano and girl's choir to.
A good Church,my husband, daughter, and family, and faithful friends.
I enjoy a person who has a sense of humility, is faithful to his loved ones, kind, loves children, is compassionate toward those in need, and likes to have fun as well (who doesn't?). I am not sure how to describe myself--I have always found that to be awkward. If it helps, my Myers-Briggs score is an ISFJ borderline ISTJ.
My pastor and his wife are wonderful examples of living for the Lord in the midst of trials. Their unwavering faith in our Sovereign Lord has been an inspiration during my own trials. They are always willing to listen without condemning and are full of godly wisdom and Scriptural knowledge.
I am now in a most blessed marriage with ryan_m.
Be Thou my Vision has long been my favorite hymn.
I am now a full-time stay-at-home mother to our two beautiful children, ages 23 months and 11 weeks.
My life-long goals revolve primarily around family. My husband and I hope to raise a family with a legacy that with glorify God and impact the community that we are a part of. We have a beautiful, 23 month-old daughter and welcomed our son into the world in February of 2010.
In my leisure time I read, do some writing, walk, ride my bike, swim (during the summer--although I was on the swim team in high-school in the community I now live in there isn't an indoor public pool), play my musical instruments (I love Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Smetana, and other composers), do handcrafts, play with my dog, and fellowship with my church family.
In a small town
I was born in Portland, Oregon. I have traveled much of the United States, but haven't really been out of the country--unless you count crossing the Rainbow Bridge to see Niagara Falls from the Canadian side! I have now also been to Alaska and Victoria, B.C. when on our honeymoon.
My mother (missjann) and I are very close, and I do miss her now that we aren't together. I also have a younger sister in Idaho who is married and just had her first baby (my nephew!) on March 30th.
I also enjoy bicycling, being outdoors in general, walking my dog, reading fiction and non-fiction, and being in the company of friends and family
I have had a couple of questions about the denomination of my church since I put "other" in that blank. The church I attend is called Christ Church, which is a member of the CREC (Confederation of Reformed and Evangelical Churches). I was married to ryan_m on July 28th, 2007, and we learned that we are going to be parents in late May or early June in October. On January 17th an ultrasound revealed that we are to be blessed with a daughter!
UPDATE: On May 27th I gave birth to our beautiful daughter. We have named her Mercy Kyrie (from the Kyrie Eleison in the church liturgy, meaning "Lord, have mercy") as a testimony to the tremendous mercy the Lord has had upon us.
UPDATE 2: Baby number two, a boy we have named Gilead Honor, arrived on February 16, 2010.
