I love just about anything outdoors. I discovered camping when I was in college and decided to add that to my list, as well! I would be entirely content to play volleyball ALL day long if my body would allow for that, or rather, if life would allow for that. I do also love to sit in a coffee shop and read biographies (I LOVE biographies) and of course, read my Bible! I have much interest in traveling, sewing, theological study, piano, and humor (all entirely disconnected interests :) ). My great interest, however, lies with the body of Christ. I would meet with anyone in the body of believers every waking moment. My interest IS the Church, His bride, and I LOVE to both give and receive encouragement, exhortation, "truth in love", and stimulation on to love and good deeds. I want to truly KNOW the brethren. |

I was 22 when the Lord called me to Himself. I initially wrestled with questioning my salvation/calling, but the Lord in His sweet grace taught me from His Scriptures how to war against principalities, and what is true of His very nature, particularly His love and His sovereignty (and thus security in salvation). I love that I had nothing to do with my calling, and that the Lord promises in His calling of His children to conform them into the image of Jesus Christ, and THEN doesn't stop there! He promises to carry them through, unto glorification. I am secure in His character, promise, and mediator, His very own son. If I have to comment on my Christian walk "these days", I guess I would have to say that I seek in the morning to do as I am told by my heavenly Father; to walk in the Spirit, meditate on His law, and spend time in prayer. I believe that is true, or should be, of every child of His. I want my concern to be the disciplines unto godliness and so, I guess those are my current strivings and the "state" of my Christian walk these days. |

| They are what gave me life in Christ :) I have not always understood/believed that, but now FULLY believe that is the Gospel put forth by my heavenly Father in His Word. When I was in college ( I was not a believer, but making claims to such, and was attending The Master's College, a small Christian college in California), I was required to read for one of my classes, The Grand Demonstration by Jay Adams. I hated this book at first because my flesh entirely rebelled against any notion that God created, not for man, but for a display of Himself (Romans 1). But the Lord continued to work. I couldn't shake the idea and the Lord used this book to provoke further thought on the subject of the superiority, sovereignty, and self-sufficiency of God (and ultimately to prepare me for His calling of me a year or so later). The Master's College holds to the Doctrines of Grace and teaches such. I found myself reading Ephesians 2 and could not arrive at any other conclusion (the analogy of the dead man wouldn't make any sense apart from the Doctrines of Grace) but that the Lord gave me life or called me to Himself. Ephesians might be my favorite book of the Bible :) The Lord saved me according to such doctrines. I was saved sitting in a pew at Grace Community Church in southern California. The Lord made me alive right in the middle of His children worshiping Him. The Doctrines of Grace ARE my calling, without hesitation. They hold in them my very life eternal in Christ. | |
| I do have a quiet time, but as to that time, it varies from day to day. My work hours are flexible and so that gives me varying quiet times, depending on availability. I am currently reading the book of Acts. Aside from this, I am reading several books on Islam, due to a particular witnessing opportunity. I am also reading Pilgrim's Progress and a book entitled Decision Making & the Will of God by Carry Friesen. I am hoping to begin Systematic Theology soon by Wayne Grudem. | |
1) Listener 2) Lover of people

| I enjoy in character a disciplined man and a man who possesses "integrity of heart". I read this in 1 Samuel (I believe) one time and it has stuck with me ever since then. I love someone who enjoys laughter (which is probably most people :) ). I desire a man who does not easily waver, a man who stands firm on what he believes is the one truth (Ephesians). I love someone who is not afraid to tell me that I am wrong/exhort me. |
