I was only 8 years old when I was drawn to Christ. Today, my walk is strong- He continues to draw me to Him and teach me about His grace and faithfulness-- it has been greater that I could ever imagine.
I never realized how much I thought I was "earning" my relationship with God. We defintely need the Gospel preached to ourselves every day! I am humbled by how much God cares for me, especially when I see my sin so clearly.. but He has been showing me the truth of my identity in Him. This has been very freeing and encouraging.
Yes. I have been studying the book of Galatians and going through a study on it by Tim Keller.
Leah- because she did not have the life she wanted, and learned to look to God for her worth and value-- and God honored her for it by putting her in the ancestry of Christ!
Well, I am content in knowing this is God's will for me today. I certainly never thought I would be single this long... ! I want to be married and to have children. But God is sovereign and I know I can trust Him. He knows better than I do what is good for me.
Genuine, caring, easy-going,fun.
I am most passionate about people. My friends and I have been working on being more intentional, making sure we spend regular time together so we can encourage each other and hold one another accountable. I love to encourage people and to see my friends grow. I am passionate about the fact that real friends will both speak the truth in love to one another and will listen when hearing the truth.
There are so many things to be thankful for, very hard to pick just 3.. but.. My church family and friends My family My faith-that has been tried and proven through tough times.
A sense of humor, caring for other people- passion for life and purpose. Someone that is committed to God and a church body- that values accountability and relationships. Someone that can have serious discussions- theology and Scripture, but who also can enjoy the lighter things in life. Someone that always wants to learn and grow. I would say these things apply to me as well..
This is so hard, for me to name just one person. I have felt so blessed to have a great church family since I moved to CO Springs 11 years ago. I moved around so much as a kid that I never got to put down roots anywhere. I think God teaches me different things through each of my friends.
We can talk about these things when we know each other better!
Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God. --- Corie Ten Boom
I worked in the psychiatric hospitals for a few years, specialized in working with kids and adolescents. I currently work for a managed care company, so am not in direct care. I like the hours better and it leaves time for me to be involved in ministry at church. Most days, I like what I do. Some days I miss more direct client work. But I use my counseling training a lot at church in ministry.. singles, youth, women's ministry, etc!
Hmmm.. I would love to be married and have a few kids some day. -Also would love to travel more and do more short term missions trips. I led a team of teens from our church on short term trips for the last four summers. -Someday would like to get my PhD and specialize in working with older adults. I'm considering this idea now... Many other goals, too many to list. I like goal-setting! :0)
Having coffee with friends, movies, great conversations, playing with my nephew, hanging out with my family, sightseeing in Denver or anywhere else in Colorado, reading, journaling, many church activities, fixing up my house, listening to music, going to the gym (not as often as I'd like-- but I am a work in progress!)
I was born in Upland, CA. I moved around a lot as a kid, all over CA, to Cincinnati and to Houston, TX. I have traveled to various places in the States for work and also to England and Ireland.
I feel very blessed to have a great church family and many friends, good support and accountability...It would be hard to re-locate, but if I felt God was leading that direction, I would do it... I moved a lot in my childhood and moved to CO Springs 11 years ago without knowing a soul. I know how to adjust and put energy into creating a support network and church family. And I know God provides in these times of change.
Reading, church activities, hanging out with friends- talking over coffee (of course!), journaling. Picture note: child in first pic is a little friend from a mission trip to N. Ireland, and in the second picture is my sweet newphew! :)
