recently out of work, looking for Pastoral employment

Wow....to describe my interests...ok. I really enjoy reading. I love reading the Bible first and foremost, I know most Christians will always say it but not really mean it. For me I say it and mean it. I also enjoy reading Theology, primarily reformed perspectives. I grealty am bleesed through reading biographies (Iain Murray is the man at writing Christian biographies!). I also enjoy reading about the Puritians. The more I read about them the more I find I want to minister as they did. Holiness towards God and others was their theme and it must be mine in life and ministry.

I also love spending time with my friends. I have a few close friends who will LORD willing be life long friends. I consider them to truly be a great blessing from God in my life.

I also see myself called by God to be a Pastor. I find that very interesting. I love to preach the WORD, to study and unpack it, and then proclaim it to people. I find it to be my highest calling in life apart from being a Godly husband and father if the LORD wills!

Single- Never Married
I don't smoke and I don't like to be around smokers
I don't drink, but don't mind others drinking in moderation
Bachelor's degree
I would like to have children one day, AND/OR would gladly accept others.

I grew up in a Christian home, and am blessed with two great Christian parents. My mother went to be with the LORD when I was a year and a half, but by God's grace He has blessed me with a wonderful step-mom who I consider to be my mother! All that to say my parents from a young age instilled within me basic knowledge of God and His WORD. I lived a good life on the outside but on the inside I had no fellowship with Christ because I was not a follower of Christ.

All this changed when I was in High School. My sophomore year of High School God broke me of all my pride and felt a genuine conviction of my sins and need for Christ as my savior. God by the power of His Holy Spirit made me alive in Christ on a winter retreat with my churches youth group. Since that time God has been drawing me closer to Himself and daily making more and more like Jesus Christ which should be the aim of our life.

I would have to say this last year has been one of my toughest years I have had. Full of great heights of joy, and deep depths of despair. But through it all, God has been closer to me than ever before. Some of the sweet times of fellowship with God that I have enjoyed is beyond words, and I would not trade those time for anything. If you want to know more just ask!

To put it plainly, the doctrines of Grace have affected almost every area of my life. I remember being totally against the idea of Predestination, total depravity, limited atonement and the like when I first started attending Moody Bible Institute. I was not a Calvinist, I was not Armenian, I decided that I would be a biblicists. I was arrogant and prideful...and young and stupid. I was blessed with Godly brothers on my floor and professors in the classroom who challenged us to simply see what the Bible says. I started to see the doctrines of Grace all over the place and eventually had to surrender my pride and accept that Calvinism is really Biblical Theology. All this to the Glory of God! if you want to know more just ask!

I do have a quiet time, I have recently been studying through the Gospel of John.

I would have to say my greatest hero from the Bible is the Apostle Paul. I love his deep commitment to the Word and to preach Christ crucified where ever he went. I also admire his pastoral heart and long to minister as he did.

I would have to say yes and no. Yes in that this is God's will for my life for the time being and am content with that. No in that I really want to be a Godly husband and father. I want to lead my family, and point them always to Christ. I know being married to me will be challenging due to my calling in life to be a Pastor, but I am trusting and waiting on God to lead me to that special someone... If you want more information just ask!

1. Lover of God and His Word.

2. other focused

3. caring

4. funny

My desire in life is to truly bring glory and honor to my God. I want to be someone who is not a fake about his faith but who genuinely seeks to live it out in the world around me. I deeply feel called to be a pastor, and want to faithfully serve Christ wherever He calls me to serve. I love the local church and would love to faithfully serve in the same church my whole life, faithfully preaching the Word, and loving the flock and pointing them towards the good Shepherd.

Apart from Christ who has saved me...

1. my parents-they have been such a blessing in my life.

2. my local church- I have attended the same church for my whole life, I have not always agreed with my church leaders but respect their faithfulness to Christ and their love for others.

3. my really close friends- I have a few close friends who have been with me and I with them through thick and thin!

Someone who is:

1. A lover of God- that must be first and foremost...

2. kind and compassionate

3. Wants to be a supportive wife and mother

4. wants to minister in a church

I would have to say my senior pastor at my church. I have been blessed to have him be my pastor for a really long time 15+ years. His ministry has greatly impacted me, because of his love for the WORD and God's people I want to be a pastor as well. I have been greatly blessed these last few years as he has personally mentored me, we meet about once a month for dinner and we discuss about anything and everything. He has both challenged me and encouraged me. I thank God for my senior pastor.

Well first and foremost I see it as the Sovereign will of God that it did not work out. I dont she was ready to be a pastors wife. It has been about 5 months since the breakup and I am just trusting that God will bring the right woman into my life when He wants.

I really love Paul's challenge to Timothy in 2nd Timothy 4, it has been my focus as of late in relation to life and ministry. " I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." - (2 Timothy 4:1-5 ESV)

Here is probably my favorite section to a sermon I have ever heard. it was given by John Piper at the 2008 Together for the Gospel conference....I want to live as is described below:

"My desire and prayer for you is that your life and ministry have a radical flavor. The flavor of risk, sacrifice, love, simplicity, joy, freedom, and precarious adventure. In 1939, Howard Guinness, one of the early founders of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, wrote a little book called Sacrifice. He was trying to do then what I am trying to do now. He wrote,

Where are the young men and women of this generation who will hold their lives cheap, and be faithful even unto death, who will lose their lives for Christ’s, flinging them away for love of him? Where are those who will live dangerously, and be reckless in this service? Where are the men of prayer? Where are the men who count God’s Word of more importance to them than their daily food? Where are the men who, like Moses of old, commune with God face to face as a man speaks with his friend? Where are God’s men in this day of God’s power? 1

Indeed, where are the pastors who say with the apostle Paul, “I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24)?

Where are the pastors who say with Joab to his brother Abishai, when surrounded by Syrians and Ammonites, “Be of good courage, and let us play the man for our people, and for the cities of our God, and may the LORD do what seems good to him” (2 Samuel 10:12)?

Where are the young women—single and married—who say with Esther, when the life of her people hung in the balance and Mordecai asked her to risk her life, “I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16)?

Well for the last two years I worked at an office supply company near my home in northern IL. I was recently let go and am currently in between jobs. God is faithful and He will provide. I am ultimately looking for church employment, so if anyone knows of any openings let me know!

To be a faitful husband, father, and pastor. In short I want to be a Godly man.

read, listen to Christian rap, hang out with friends, watch the Green Bay Packers.

In the heart of the city, In the suburbs, In a small town, A farm/cottage in the county

I was born and raised in northern IL. I have been to several states in the Midwest, a few on the east coast and a few out west. The only foreign country I have been to is Canada!

I love my mom and dad, I am an only child (does it show?), and am very close to my parents and extended family. But wherever my God calls me I will follow. I love the quote by Rich Mullins "I'm home anywhere if you are where I am". That reflects my view on life.
