| I've been drawn to Christ all my life, but really let him into my heart during the summer of 2004 during extremely bad times. It is a journey that never ends. And I learn more and more every day during my walk with Him. | |
| I have learned that the only important things in life are to love life and Jesus Christ as He loves his church. And to give our Father all the glory for everything wonderous and beautiful that exists in the world. | |
| Quiet times are spent with my dog, or reading books, especially the ESV Bible, or books about the teachings or philosophy of the scriptures. Maybe going for walks, stargazing, watching sunsets, or watching a good movie. Reading a lot of RC Sproul currently. | |
| The Lord Jesus Christ himself, for being sent here to die, so that I may be redeemed. How can you beat that? | |
| If I was content being single I wouldn't be here! ;-) | |
| Absolute consideration of other peoples feelings or needs, generosity, unselfishness, and willing to humble myself before Him. Also a great sense of humor, and a hard worker, and the ability to laugh at myself (part of being humble). The question above titled "My sense of humor is most like" didn't have the right answer in it, so I'll answer it here....my sense of humor is like a Peanuts Comic strip (especially Snoopy). :-) | |
| The love of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of small animals, children. And the love of my church family, the grace of the Lord, and everything He has put in this world for us to appreciate. I'm especially drawn to people who realize that what they have in their lives is so very precious, and who give thanks for all that they have that the Lord has provided for them. I am also extremely passionate about music! | |
| My friends, my church, and The Lord! | |
| I enjoy a person who has the ability to communicate and share their feelings with me. I would always hope that they would always feel comfortable in coming to me with anything that they may be having a problem with. I am an excellent listener! I know pretty well when to interject a word of comfort or two, and when to sit back, shut up and just listen. Sometimes just being an ear for someone is the greatest gift that one can give. I really enjoy people with a good sense of humor and like to laugh. I respect a person who can agree that a partnership between a man and a woman is an equal 50/50 partnership in all aspects of the relationship, especially in decision making. I also admire people who can have as much fun doing things together as possible. Everything from doing the dishes to recreation. I also greatly admire a persons ability to look at EVERYTHING in life in a positive light. As a special note: I think anyone who gets a short message or an invitation to read someone's profile, or to respond to a short message who doesn't respond back in any way is rather inconsiderate and rude. And I would even go so far as to say that maybe those type of people are here for the wrong reason. I can assure anyone who contacts me that they will hear back from me, no matter who you are. That is the biggest thing that is admirable to me, the ability to return someone's message that you receive. That's just the reformed Christian thing to do for someone who has taken the time to let you know that they are interested in being a friend, not to mention just plain considerate. | |
| My grandmother on my mother's side of the family. As a true believer, she has taught me all that is good about life. Everything good inside me and about me I attribute to her. | |
| A combination of not recognizing Him and his presence in the marriage, and her leaving me for someone else who is not a believer. I've been single now for over 8 years and what I've learned is to find someone more firmly grounded in their walk with the Lord. One who would like to walk the Lord's path with me, and continue to study the scriptures, and glorify Him for everything in and about our lives. Someone who really feels the words of the song in the next category: | |
| I hope you never lose your sense of wonder You get your fill to eat But always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance I hope you dance I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance Never settle for the path of least resistance Living might mean taking chances But they're worth taking Lovin' might be a mistake But it's worth making Don't let some hell bent heart Leave you bitter When you come close to selling out Reconsider Give the heavens above More than just a passing glance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance (Time is a real and constant motion always) I hope you dance (Rolling us along) I hope you dance (Tell me who) I hope you dance (Wants to look back on their youth and wonder) (Where those years have gone) I hope you still feel small When you stand by the ocean Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance Dance "I Hope You Dance" -Lee Ann Womack "It Is Well With My Soul" When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul. It is well with my soul, it is well, it is well with my soul. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and hath shed his own blood for my soul. (Refrain) My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! And, Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul. Also 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." ....and "Footprints": One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. "LORD, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me. The LORD replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you." ~Mary Stevenson Parker~ | |
| I am in the field of technical support for a major communications firm, and I've been there two years. I enjoy working with other people, including customers and helping them solve whatever problem they may be having with their product. | |
| I've achieved the biggest goal in life already, my walk with Him! The next goal is to be blessed with the love of a gentle, kind and caring woman that I can share my life with, and laugh with, study scripture with and can give my love and time to. | |
| I like anything that does not involve thrill-seeking or the possible endangerment of my life (so bungee-jumping and skydiving are out! :-) ) I enjoy almost any other kind of recreation or entertainment. In my off time I like doing church activities (like choir and missions), tutoring children, and fellowship with my church family. | |
| Born in Northern Illinois (snow country). I really miss the snow here in Tulsa. I have only traveled to Colorado and been to Pike's Peak, where it snowed in July! So cool! | |
| My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles have all passed away. I now have my church family who are very important to me. I also have a solid employment career and would rather not leave it all behind. I would really like to remain in the Tulsa, OK area, but I would still go wherever He leads me. | |
| church activities, tutoring children (Private Photos password is mercy) | |
| This is a most thorough and comprehensive questionnaire. I can't think of anything at this time. |
