I was 19 when I would say that I was drawn to Christ and understood what a Christian really was. I had just moved to southern Ontario for University. I went to a bar with some friends and ended up meeting a guy, who I was singing show tunes with. I started talking about how I was in a choir at my church growing up. (It was a United Church that didn't share the gospel message, that I can remember anyway.) He told me that his sister was making him go to this Christian Fellowship meeting and asked if I could come with him to keep him company. So, we started going and we both became Christians within the next few months. My first Bible study that I went to was on Philippians and that was the first time I had ever remembered hearing about Paul. I still wasn't hearing great preaching though and a lot of the things I was learning was influenced by the mega-church movement. After a few years I found that I wasn't learning much anymore and I began looking for another church. A few co-workers of mine introduced me to a Sovereign Grace church. When I first starting coming I was amazed at the teaching and how the Pastor would go through every passage in scripture rather than just picking and chosing different passages. A few months after going to the church I realized that everyone there seemed to believe in predestination and I thought that was strange because every where else I had gone had said that God couldn't be fair or loving if He pre-destined some to be saved. By looking through the scriptures with friends and the Pastor I came to believe in the doctrines of grace and have grown a lot in the past few years. |

They have given me a greater understanding of the scriptures. Now a lot of scriptures make sense that didn't make sense before. They have given me more security in knowing that I have been justified by Christ alone, not by anything I have done or could do. |

Yes, I just finished studying Ecclesiastes. I am also doing an in depth study on Hebrews with a women's group. Any suggestions of books to study now? |

Moses because he had difficulty speaking in front of others (stuttered) and God used him anyway. (He did give him Aaron as well.) It just reminds me that God can use anyone to display His glory. |

I was born in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. I have been to various places in the United States (California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan etc). I went to Mexico three times for short term Missions trips. One time I was there for six months helping at an orphanage and teaching English. I loved the experience but I don't think I could do it long term, as my stomach can't handle the spicy food anymore. |
