Single- Never Married
I have known salvation in Christ as long as I can remember.
Understanding my relationship to God through Christ in terms of reformed doctrine defines my (holy but imperfect) life entirely. I can get up in the morning and sleep at night because of the doctrines of election and grace—knowing that even the desire to be forgiven by God is prompted in me by the Holy Spirit who has regenerated me, and because of the doctrine of perseverance of the saints—knowing that God's grace in saving me will never, ever be withdrawn.
I read through the Bible, and I read through the Psalms.
Two stand out because of their titles: David, a man after God's own heart; and John, the disciple whom Jesus loved.
There are enough biblical examples of singles to be able to say singleness can be a calling (longer for some than others), and thus a gift, so I can be content. That being said, being differently gifted would be fine. A family of my own would be nice. These are understatements.
I haven't asked them, but I would guess humility, humor, seriousness of purpose, and intelligence.
Living out the Lordship of Christ in all of life, meaning: God has given me various abilities, and as I understand it, that means I have both the privilege and the responsibility to develop and apply them, whether the ability to think or the ability to juggle or whatever else.
I like to see humility, joy (including but not limited to a sense of humor), wisdom, and grace. As for my traits, I want to put more thought into that (which is probably one of my traits right there...).
I cannot say I have ever really had a relationship. But I've learned something, which is that each person has to consider the needs of the other.
Favorite Bible passages: Psalm 42, Psalm 16, Romans, 1 John.
I do math and computer programming sorts of things, and I am having a great time.
I do have some. I may elaborate later.
The first thing I do to relax is read on the web, or watch TV there, but I also like to play piano, and recently I've tried to get out and juggle a little (had neglected that for a while).
I was born and grew up in Washington state; more recently I have lived in the Midwest and now on the east coast. My foreign travel has been limited to Canada and Great Britain.
I have rather a large family, including my parents, three brothers and a sister and all their spouses, and nineteen nieces and nephews. I already live a long distance from all of them; relocating would not be much of an issue for that reason.
