If you get a email in your inbox on the SGS site that has a Buddy request you can do the following:

1. Delete the email. It will still be a pending buddy request found in your Buddies under Manage Actions.

2. Click the reject button. No further action is needed and they will not show up in your Manage Actions list.

3. Postpone a decision to reject the buddy request. You can still find the email in your SGS mail box, or in your Manage Actions list.

4. Accept the Buddy. You can delete them later if you wish by going to Manage Buddies.

What to do with Buddy requests:

If you got a buddy request from someone you can either accept or reject it. Is it someone you know and want to be consider a buddy? If you don't know them you can postpone deciding whether to accept or reject it, even if you delete the email that had the request you can still go and choose what to do by going to Manage My Buddies.

You could first exchange messages with them before deciding whether to add them as a buddy. Some people don't use the buddies feature so don't feel you have to use the feature or become buddies with anyone that asks. You might use your buddy list only for your closest friends or people you know outside of SGS, etc.

Removing a Buddy you added:

Go to the My Profile tab and click on it. You should see your own profile.

Mouse over the Buddies button and mouse down to Manage Buddies and click on that. You will see a buddy list and below each picture (or image placeholder) are several icons. Clicking on the red X will delete a buddy.

Managing Buddies:

Mouse over the Buddies button and mouse down to Manage Buddies and click on that. You will see a buddy list and below each picture (or image placeholder) are several icons.

The red X will delete a buddy.

The "head and shoulders" icon will let you view a profile.

The PM icon lets you send a message on the SGS system in your SGS email box to be viewed on the SGS site. You might see notifications in your internet email account if you set up to be notified about messages, but the person you message with on SGS does not see your email address.
