The site runs on the Joomla content management system, one of the 3 best-of-breed open source content management systems (Joomla, Drupal, and Plone). Joomla is mature software, and Joomla's developers regularly and promptly release security fixes when security vulnerabilities are discovered, and we upgrade the site's software to keep up with those fixes. In my opinion the server staff do an excellent job of using industry best practices to secure the server. So the site is as secure as Joomla, which is pretty good--for example, your password is not stored in the site, so it cannot be stolen from the site.
Sovereign Grace Singles is set up so that your user profile is publicly visible on the internet so prospective members can recognize our site truly does have many of the kind of conservative Reformed believers they would like to meet. If you do not want personal information publicly available, we recommend you do not write that information in your profile but rather give that information out by other means to the friends you make on the site--by email or instant messaging through the site. Your SGS username will display publicly, but your real name, email address, mailing address, and other required personal information will not display publicly or even to other members of SGS unless you reveal them. However, if you wish to limit the access to your profile's content, that is possible. One you login and go to your profile --> Update Your Profile --> Profile and chose, via the drop-down menu, what you would like/not like to be visible and to whom.
