January 19, 2006 Hello SGS Members, Today is the First Anniversary of the "launching" of Sovereign Grace Singles. I want to sincerely thank each and everyone of you for being a part of what has come to feel as a "family", the Sovereign Grace Singles Family. This may seem corny to some of you and, yes, well, it is. Diane, ("InHisWill"), shared this with me some time ago and I shall share the sentiment with you. (as well as practicing my new html skills, click on Icon below): My Sincere Sentiment to You Now that I've embarrassed myself and put a smile on your face... the rest of this Newsletter. I had set a goal for myself and SGS of having 1000 Members in the first year of SGS for YOU to welcome and get to know. However, regretfully, this did not happen and I've learned much in the process. After having spent many thousands of dollars, especially in recent months, in Advertising with little result, it has become very clear that the BEST means of spreading the word about SGS is by you, the Members of SGS, simply talking with friends and family about it, i.e., "word of mouth". I will continue to do some advertising but more importantly, most monies spent will be on continued improvement and upgrades to the site. Thank-you for doing what you have in spreading the word about SGS. In the next few/weeks days I'll be letting you know about a few things on which I'm working: 1) An SGS/Hurricane Katrina Service Opportunity in Louisiana at a Reformed Church there which is the home church of one of our members, Laura, ("Lahudsonchef"). I've been in contact with the Pastor and Elders and they would LOVE to have us there for as long as we can give and they've assured me there is LOTS of work to do. The date will be March 11th and going for a week or however long one can contribute. This will be a Work Event and the conditions might be somewhat primitive. More information later but please contact me at:

and I'll keep you informed individually or as a small group rather than sending the details to every Member. 2) The time around both Nic and Ora's Wedding (April 22, 2006 in Texas) and Kiel and Dawn's Wedding (June 2, 2006 in Colorado) will be a time that SGS Members can get-together, do some sight-seeing and fellowship. Those of you who plan to go to either, please get in touch with me at this email address:

and I'll keep you informed individually or as a small group rather than sending the details to every Member. (Personally, I hope to do some fly-fishing in Colorado.... anyone interested in learning) 3) I'm planning on "sponsoring" some Events for those in the Pacific Northwest (clamming anyone) and using the timeshare I acquired for SGS, Trendwest (www.Trendwest.com), as the accommodations. IF ANY of you wish to "Sponsor" and Event, whatever it is, plan it and let me know! I'll post it on SGS's Events. If there is a Trendwest Resort near where you wish to have the Event, let me know and I'll try to reserve the time and space needed. Did you see the new "Met on SGS" Feature on SGS:
Don't forget the SGS/Alpha and Omega Caribbean Cruise in November! Soli Deo Gloria! Dean
