I have lots of interests but I guess it depends on what realm you're referring to. Overarching interests seem to revolve around anything to do with academia, recreation, and sports. I am in a situation right now where I am surrounded by college students on a college campus. I love being where learning takes place and being apart of it. I used to be a Jr. High / High school teacher but then I just finished my Masters and am looking into pursuing a Doctorate so I can teach at the collegiate level. I love to get out and exercise in many different ways but mostly individual sports (Biking, running, golf). I do enjoy playing team sports too when I get the chance but I have found lately that the competitive level in my head is writing checks my body can't cash! I like to watch college football and golf but I'd rather play any sport over watching it on TV. I also love to travel. I know everyone says that but I really have a passion for meeting mew people, going to new and exciting places and experiencing life in a foreign land...at least for a little while. I've been to 14 countries and plan to go to three more (Australia, Fiji, and New Zealand) this summer. Peoples' stories are important to me as well so I really enjoy getting to know everyone at a deeper level.

Love the theological inferences in the way that question was worded! I was drawn to Christ during a summer camp not far from my home in California after my Junior year of High school. It was very clear that even though I grew up as a "Christian" that I knew virtually nothing about what Christian really was or even surrendering my life to him. As far as where I am now...I will say that the sanctification process is long and arduous for sinners such as I but I praise God for His faithfulness in that I am not where I was and I look forward to where I can be through his grace. I just graduated from seminary...which basically means nothing except that God stirred up in me an even deeper passion for his word and speaking the gospel story into every facet of life. My appreciation for grace is high because my awareness of sin and pain is also high (part of that comes from working at a PCA college). I know God is good and I know redemption is sweet...I am trying to figure out what that means on a day to day basis.

Grace is the good pleasure of God that inclines Him to bestow benefits upon the undeserving. It is a self-existent principle inherent in the divine nature and appears to us as a self-caused propensity to pity the wretched, spare the guilty, welcome the outcast, and bring into favor those who were before under just disapprobation. Its use to us sinful men is to save us and make us sit together in heavenly places to demonstrate to the ages the exceeding riches of God’s kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Yes, I must have time with Jesus. I am currently reading through Philippians and James. In addition, I am also reading The "Return of the Prodigal Son" by Henri Nouwen and "Captivating" by Staci Eldredge for fun.
Tough one! Besides Jesus I would have to say Peter, David, Samson, Jacob or Gideon? Peter because he is every man's man...he's so passionate about everything but he's not quite sure what to do with it so he messes up a lot and that is endearing. David strikes me as someone who I could be best friends with. His stories would blow my mind probably. Not necessarily of what he did but what God did in his heart and life. Samson, for obvious reasons. Jacob because he worked 14 years for Rachel (in all likelihood one of the most beautiful women of all time) and everyone knows that pretty b.a. Gideon trusted God with heart and soul, in the midst of great odds. For the women I would say Ruth, Esther and Mary but this is getting long and people are probably bored with it so I'll move on.
I would say that I am content; although the mere fact that I am writing about myself on the internet for women to read probably says otherwise. I like being independent and single because there are many advantages and my life certainly hasn't stopped, nut on the other hand I always thought I would be married with kids by now. I would say that those two things are my biggest hopes and dreams for my life. Still, if that's not what God has for me then I will submit to that and do whatever I need to do in order to serve the kingdom fully as a single man.
I think they would say loyalty, honesty, unpredictable and down-to-earth? Yep...that's what I got off the top of my head.
I didn't realize there were so many questions to this questionnaire so I will just go ahead and and say that I am passionate about Jesus and the gospel in the general and specific senses. The ways in which this plays out in practical everyday life could end up being pages and pages. I love it when people genuinely get it and live it out in real life, not just once a week in church. I love learning and teaching. I am passionate about life pretty much!
I am thankful for my family, they are amazing people and push me to be a better man whether they realize it or not. I am thankful for life and health (able minds and bodies to do the things we desire to do). I am thankful for grace.

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

George Mattheson, 1882

"And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for!"

John Keating, Dead Poets Society

I want to be a godly husband and father.

My family is pretty spread out but the core of the family still lives in California. It would be nice to go back at some point but I am really not tied anywhere in particular. I really enjoyed living in Colorado the past 2 years and the South has been ok for the past few months but I am really a Midwest / West kind of guy. My life is wide open for the most part...I have relocated many times!
