Interesting activites that I enjoy are hiking or skiing on the mountains around Greater Vancouver, B.C. kayaking, swimming, aerobics, playing piano, singing, going to, participating in or organizing concerts, writing songs, dancing and jogging in forest trails. I daily enjoy the natural beauty of the West Coast Rainforest, and live near an urban forest. Topics of interest include linguistics, language training, classical music, folk music, gospel and jazz, theology, missions and world religions and politics. I abhor shopping unless I am with a friend who can cajole me into going with her. By grace I found my last dress in 30 minutes at a boutique where I go when I'm in a pinch. |

| I would like to have children one day, AND/OR would gladly accept others. | |
I grew up in a Reformed Christian home, and my Mom told me the gospel when I was three years old. I knew then that God loved me and had given Jesus to save me from sin and evil. This child-like faith was tested, and became quite intellectualized through my growing up years. God honoured the profession of faith I made at 18 years of age, but I needed to grow and mature in trust and dependence on God's promises and Word. My walk these days is deepening in this area. |

| I think the biggest thing about God's sovreign grace is that it teaches me humility before a holy God who loved me and invited me into His eternal family before the foundation of the world. His riches at the expense of His Son are given to me by faith, and I am more and more amazed at the beauty of His holiness that cleanses me from sin and enables me to be gracious to others. | |
Yes. In the morning my devotional reading is from "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young, and in the evening I am going through Luke and Acts. |
|
Besides Jesus, I admire King David in the OT and Paul in the NT.

I am relatively content being single, but would prefer to be married for companionship, growth, and to raise a family. However, I know that our Father in heaven knows best, and pray for His purposes first. |

| My friends tell me I am gentle, kind, thoughtful, hard-working, talented, and dependable. I also like a good laugh, but don't tell jokes very well. | |
| I am passionate about missions - whether at home or abroad - and telling others about Jesus. I also love to sing classical music - opera, oratorio and art songs. If I lived in Quebec, I would learn to speak French very well. I am passionate about helping my students learn and reach their fullest potential as English speakers or as musicians. | |
| I am thankful for my family and friends and church home. I am thankful for my health and for the many things that I can enjoy and participate in in life. | |
| I enjoy honesty and courage in others and value that in myself. It's hard to see yourself as you really are without a facade, and then take courage from God to be all that you are in Him. | |
| I have had many mentors and role models in my life over the years, and at this time, my pastor is encouraging me to seek a greater trust in God. As a single woman, my role model has to be KB, a lovely Black-American woman who loves God and is a musician, singer and worship leader par-excellence. | |
| I think I was still figuring out who I was, and didn't want to be hijacked in a relationship where much more would be required of me. I broke off an engagement six years ago for this reason, realizing it wasn't my job to make someone happy when I was making myself very unhappy in the process. | |
I've always liked the phrase, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade." Actually, it's usually our perception fo the circumstance that needs to change, rather than the circumstance. Along with that sentiment this follows very well - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Rom 8:28 |

| I enjoy my work as a piano and voice instructor for my own business, which I established full-time four years ago. In addition, I teach international students and new immigrants English as a second language. I like what I do because I work with people, and view that as ministry and have many opportunities to build into peoples' lives through teaching, sharing the gospel and building relationships. | |
| I have a dream to sing on stage much as did Frances Yeend (1913-2008) who started an international opera career at age 40! That said, I think that marriage and raising a family rank higher on my priorty list. | |
| In summertime I enjoy hiking in the mountains, canoeing , waterskiing, and kayaking, and in winter I like snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and a bit of downhill skiing. I enjoy long walks in the forest and am a bit of a nature buff. Cooking different ethnic foods is also on my list. Reading non-fiction books on faith and theology is important to me, and doing my music. | |

| I was born in New Westminster, B.C. and have travelled to Alberta, California, Mexico, Chicago, Memphis, TN, Louisiana, Ontario (Toronto), Montreal, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary, Israel, Japan, China, Australia and Hawaii. I lived in Japan, Winnipeg and Lethbridge, Alberta for a year each on teaching assignments and for study. | |
| I have a huge Dutch family that mostly live in the Greater Vancouver Area. I am also a patriotic Canadian. However, if it is God's will, I do not mind relocating, as long as it's not in the dessert : ) I really like the ocean and the green! | |

I hope you like cheesecake... Oh, I'm the oldest of eight siblings, three of whom are married with two or more children.
