| "freelance musician" | |
| Wow! I hate these questions because a box just doesn't cut it. Basically, I'm a nature- and science- loving musician. Love to read, write, have conversations of all sorts (serious, funny, all topics except contact sports and politics....haha sorry)! Love outdoors better than indoors... adventurous spirit; love to learn and try new things. I play piano, sing, am picking the violin back up and am teaching myself the guitar. | |
| Single- Never Married | |
| I might not mind a pipe or cigar | |
| I drink occasionally | |
| Some college | |
| I would like to have children one day, AND/OR would gladly accept others. | |
| I was adopted into a christian home at 9 days old! I remember "asking Jesus into my heart" at age 5, 6, 7 (every year, just to "make sure"...) I was generally a good kid but I struggled with assurance from time to time. In my mid-teens I had full assurance and a revival in my heart. A book for singles challenged me to pursure a relationship with Christ first, before anything else. My 20s have brought trying times, much heartache, and continued struggles, but I strive to hold on to my convictions in the face of "real life." I've had the odd proverbial two-by-four come my way! :D Growth lasts a lifetime. | |
| I grew up in the same "reformed" church my whole life, so I've always accepted those doctrines, for the most part. Again, in my teens, I read another book which showed me WHY I believed what I believed. Those principles explain so many of life's crucial questions. Even though we reed books though, life has a way of challenging EVERYTHING for which we say we stand. | |
| I've already mentioned that i'm a reader, but I'm not as much as I would like to or should be! I like to combine Bible reading with other books, and like to write down what I'm learning. I also like to write my prayers. My "study interests" right now are a reflection of recent moral issues I've faced with unbelieving family. I'm heading back to square one, to be able to "give an account for the hope that is in" me. It's tough, but a good and welcomed challenge. | |
Jonah and David for their human-ness! |
|
I have been back and forth on this issue for YEARS, depending on where I'm at in life, my faith, social life, etc. The older I get, the more stable my feelings on the matter, and I wouldn't be on this site if I just didn't care! lol I don't want to be single, but I am content as far as not wishing to settle for Mr. Wrong! and not feeling worthless as an individual human. |
|
| I've been told I'm a good listener, understanding, encouraging, inspiring, personable, and loyal. (#5 "hilarious") | |
| I am a musician, from my earliest days. I have a gift but it's not my only interest of course. I would say besides being crazy about the outdoors and a science / medical nerd, I'm geared toward connecting with people, and also with living out my faith so the lost see a better way, and are not turned off to Truth. | |
I struggle with this. There I said it. Having said that, here's the answer: The parents who raised me (and my recent reunion with my natural ones), Christ who gave His life on my behalf and the fact I KNOW it to believe and accept it, and .... God's work of creation, which reminds me of His power and control over EVERYTHING. |
|
Once again..."connection"; I seem to gravitate the most easily (with some exceptions!) to those who share common interests and convictions but who compliment my personality to a degree. In large crowds I'm a bit quieter, but most folks don't pick up on the shyness because I'm a good conversationalist and have a quick sense of humour. I'm generally liked but not popular. I have a spontaneous, adventurous streak. Ideally, someone who is a bit more outgoing brings it out of me. I'm quick-whitted and can laugh at just about anything deemed funny...within reason. :) More specifically for someone else, outgoing / friendly, adventurous / "non-stick-in-the-mud", stable, loving, encouraging / positive.... guidelines are good, CHECKLISTS ARE DANGEROUS!!! It's important to me that we see eye-to-eye on moral issues. |
|
| This is hard because I've had a few very close friendships... so can I say those? :) | |
This is a discussion topic, not a boxed answer! My experiences are unconventional. Here's a nutshell to think about: ~trust is delicate; |
|
Here are some short quotes -- powerful and worth a quick read!! "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." "I’m just a nobody here to tell everybody that there is a Somebody who can save anybody!” “Sense shines with a double luster when it is set in humility; an able and yet humble man is a jewel worth a kingdom.” “Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and blind can see.” “I fear God, and next to God I chiefly fear him who fears Him not.” “A great man is great until he discovers it; then he is a danger and a nuisance.” “Sunday is the golden clasp that binds together the volume of the week.” ”Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.” “The Scriptures will never become so transparent as to make faith unnecessary.” "We have a God who delights in impossibilities." "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything!" |
|
I'm a musician that does anything from play for events to teach; I have written and arranged quite a bit, and want to do much more. I'm still in the process of deciding if Music Therapy is something I want to go through with. |
|
When asked this question on facebook, the limited reply space allowed for this: "A probing question very hard to nutshell; I would say, to be a consistent light and personal Christian influence in the various avenues of my life now and in the future with a family, and anywhere on the globe!" Practically, I want my own kids! :) |
|
I listen to / play / write / arrange music, read, write, computer/internet, ... um, I love the outdoors and RECREATIONAL activities (not into the competitive sports because I'm bad at it!); water stuff, walks, biking (it's all below...) I don't care much for TV but enjoy a good movie. I'm strange in that I love quietness/away from noise, but I'm also pretty restless and always up for doing something / adventure. Anything NEW! :) (See "Interests") |

| I was born in an obscure location you may not even find on a map! haha I wasn't born where I'm from and I wasn't born where I live now. All three towns are obscure locations. :) I originated in the Lindsay, Ontario region but have always lived down 'here' near yucky Windsor. I've seen more of the U.S. than I have of my own country -- MI, OH, IN, IL, PA, FL, NY, NJ, WA, OR, TX... never overseas but it's definitely a dream!! | |
| My immediate families are spread over a span of 6 hours; I have both biological and adoptive families. I wouldn't mind relocating even though I love my little town. I grew up with one adoptive sister and have two half sisters; I always dreamed of a brother. :( My church family is awesome... I've known them what feels like forever. | |
