I would like to have children one day.
I thank God that He gave me wonderful Christian parents who raised me so that I can't remember a day when I didn't know Christ as my Lord and Savior.  Recently God had taught me about the truth of His sovereignty and providence, and the comfort of His mercy and forgiveness; these are more than theological doctrines, they are promises for daily living.  Sanctification is painful.  I don't seem to get the subtle nudges so I usually end up getting wacked over the head!  But He gives us more grace...
I spent most of my life convinced that because I was a "good kid" and knew a lot of the answers, I had things all figured out.  In the last four years, God has really revealed to me that my perfectionism and desire to please others are idols, keeping me from truly serving the Lord.  He has shown me the beauty that is to be found in His free gift of grace, and the comfort of godly repentance and His forgiveness.
I struggle with consistency in this area.  I've found that, having spent the last two years immersed in theological and biblical studies in seminary, studying the Bible can become very "academic" rather than "devotional."  Right now, I'm going through the Psalms by singing through the Psalter.  Singing back to God the words which He inspired the Psalmist to write for His worship is a true blessing; they reveal the beauty of God's works, the splendor of who He is, and how much God cares for His children.
Ruth - loyal to her family, leaving all behind to follow the True God, and obedient to her mother-in-law in order to get a husband!

"Content" needs to be defined...

If "content" means that I am happy being single and willing to wait for God to "drop someone in my lap" and that it doesn't make a difference to me if I get married or not, then no, I'm not content.

If "content" means that I trust God to be sovereignly in control of the future, that He has called me to one day get married, and that I am actively pursuing God's call for this area of my life as in other areas (hence joining this site), then I am "content."  But I prefer to call it "trusting God with my current single state and my future marriage."

Close friends and family would say (for better or worse) that I'm perfectionistic, hard working but sometimes silly, loyal, compassionate.

I grew up on the mission field and have felt God's call to serve Him overseas for a long time.  I'm passionate about serving God with my family on the mission field.  I also think it's important to have a consistent world-view and faith, and to understand how those impact living my life and worshipping.  I believe that the presbyterian/reformed way of worship and church government is what God has provided for His church.

I'm also passionate about having fun!  Getting outside and enjoying God's creation, having fun with friends and family, bursting into spontaneous song, not wearing shoes all summer long, enjoying a good belly-laugh until tears stream down your face and you can't remember what was so funny to begin with, and mostly trying to remember to not take myself so seriously!

God, family, and cheese.  (I grew up in France... I really love cheese!)

I'll be honest, here are the "big three" (not personality traits, necessarily, but very important): Presbyterian, ministry-minded, serious about pursuing God's call to marriage.

Beyond that, godly, well-balanced (serious but goofy, hard-working but not too hard, a leader but a servant), consistent, compassionate, willing to confront me when I am in error, humble.

I can't pick just one...

My best friend from college: we learned a lot together and came out on the other side, by God's grace.

Two good friends from seminary: they show me how to be a godly woman and trust the Lord.

Three women from church: they show me what it means to be a "Proverbs 31" woman as wives, mothers, friends, employees, and church members.

Well, I had two boyfriends in high school.  Both relationships ended because of immaturity (mine and theirs) and different goals in life.

I haven't dated anyone since then.

Isaiah 40

Psalm 139

Psalm 51

After college I worked for a couple places as a secretary... not the most challenging or "rewarding" work, but it did put my organizational skills to good use!  I'm a seminary student right now, due to graduate in May 2010.

After school, I hope to serve the Lord on the mission field.  I'd love to be able to combine my love of the Lord with my training in music (went to college for music) -- so working in church music on the mission field would be great!  But I'll go where God sends and do what He calls me to.

1. Serve God

2. Be a godly wife and mom.

3. Never stop learning.

Anything that is fun is more fun when done with other people... so just spending time with good friends and family.  But I also love being outside (trees, mountains, lakes, seashore) in the sun, playing card games, playing sports (volleyball, soccer, basketball, ...).

In the suburbs, In a small town, On the coast, A farm/cottage in the county, A cabin in the woods, Lost in the wilderness, On a space station

(Is living on a space station really an option?? I never considered that before... but hey, God can call you anywhere, right?)

Born near Philadelphia.  Moved to France with Family when I was 2.  Lived in Marseilles until I was 13.  Lived in several towns in Pennsylvania through high school (Shippensburg, Williamsport, Watsontown).  Went to college in western PA - Grove City.  Moved to Pittsburgh after college with my good friend.  My parents moved out to the Pittsburgh area last year, I moved back in with them.

Traveled: England, Canada, across the U.S., due to visit my sister in France in less than a month!

Family: Mom and Papa; three younger siblings (brother + sister twins, brother).

There isn't a country in the world that I wouldn't be open to considering.  But I really hope God calls me somewhere warm...
