I like reading, writing, fellowshipping with fellow Christians, going to the beach and watching the waves and feeling the wind blow, traveling to places I've never been...
Single- Never Married
I am a non-smoker
Bachelor's degree
I would like to have children one day.
I grew up in a Bible-believing household, so my parents instilled in me from birth the Scriptures and trusting in Christ alone for salvation. I became more active in my faith as a teenager, and it was then that I remember thinking more about my salvation and living by the Word of God. Today I pray that I become more sanctified each day and that God keeps me from the temptations of the world. I feel like I've come a long way in my walk with Christ, but that I'm always learning and asking Him for strength and spiritual maturity.
Believing in the Doctrines of Grace affects my whole world-view. Knowing that the Lord is sovereign and has opened my eyes to see the Truth and believe when I did nothing to deserve it makes me thankful and love Him even more.
I'm reading through the Bible using the M'Cheyne Bible plan. I also read Spurgeon's Morning and Evening.
I was asked to write a paper on someone I looked up to in high school. I chose Joseph because after his brothers sold him into slavery and tore him away from all of his family, especially his father and younger brother Benjamin, for years to come, he still trusted in God's providence. He didn't turn his back on God, even resisted Potipher's wife because he didn't want to sin against God, and he knew that he was in Egypt for a reason. In the end he ended up forgiving his brothers even after the evil they had done to him and provided for them in the famine. There are so many godly examples in both the Old and New Testaments, but Joseph has always been one of my favorite Bible characters.
Most of the time I am content being single. I have a desire to marry a godly man, but I know that God has my life in His hands, and that He is sovereign over whether or not I will marry in the future.
Patient, Quiet, Loving, Sweet
I am passionate about God's Word, the current state of the Christian evangelical church in the US and worldwide and praying for those persecuted believers in oppressed and tyrannical countries, current US events and praying for a nation that seems to be drifting further away from biblical principles and God's law, and being thankful to the Lord for giving me my family, friends, and a faith in Christ when others are blinded to the Truth.
I am thankful for Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for my sins when I didn't deserve it, my family, my friends, and God's provisions and blessings to me in my life.
I enjoy the character traits of those who are firm in their beliefs and principles (especially those who are Calvinist and Reformed), that are passionate about the Bible and their Christian walk and applying it to their everyday lives, and those who enjoy a good laugh and can have a little clean fun. I feel that I know what I want in life and I am passionate about my Reformed beliefs. I am quiet-natured but can talk a lot too. I always believe in being honest and not lying. I also am more patient and don't become agitated as quickly as others do.
My former preacher's wife, Elizabeth, was a very influential person in my life. She exemplified what it meant not only to be a godly wife and mother, but a godly person. As the preacher's wife, she reached out to those in the congregation asking how we were doing, showing her love of others physically by helping others when she could, and by praying for us when we needed it. She was very kind and loving and made me want to live my life caring for others and living a godly life on a daily basis.
My parents didn't condone dating when I was in high school (or at least the current dating philosophy so many have adopted) and I have dated since then, but have never been in a relationship.

Whenever I am particularly upset or nervous about what's going on in my life or the world, I am soothed by Jesus' words found in Matthew 6:25: Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?" or "What shall we wear?" For the gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

There are also many hymns with words that comfort me, but a couple of my favorites are "It is well with my soul" and "Oh how love I Thy law".

I currently work at a place called NISH that is a central nonprofit agency. We oversee nonprofit agencies that employee people who are disabled and sell their products or perform services for the federal government. I have been working at NISH for a couple years now. When I graduated college, I became a full time caretaker for my grandmother since she had just dealt with major health problems. I went to work at NISH after moving to Virginia.
My lifetime goals are to become more sanctified as I grow older and to grow closer in my walk with Christ. and to do everything to the glory of God. And, if the Lord wills, I would like to be a wife and mother one day.
I like to read and write (the Bible, clean historical fiction, other biblical books, Jane Austen, Catherine Marshall, etc.) I enjoy watching movies, but I really like when I can watch a good, clean movie that doesn't need to have cursing and immoral behavior in it. I especially like to see some of the movies about Reformational leaders (like Luther). I also enjoy walking or playing tennis. I like going on picnics and being outside in the warmer months while spending time with friends and family. I am also open to other recreational activities that I have not tried or have not been exposed to yet.
I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and lived in Metro-Atlanta up until a couple years back. I then moved to Virginia with my parents, though one brother lives in Colorado with his wife and my other family is still in Georgia. I have been to Florida many times since I was a child, Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee, New York City, Denver, Colorado, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Charleston, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, Dallas, Texas, Seattle, Chicago, and I've passed through several other southern states and some New England states. I would really love to visit other places in the world some day as well...
I grew up in a Bible-believing home with two younger brothers and a variety of dogs throughout the years. My family was very close. We all lived in the same house up until I was out of college, and then one of my brothers married a a fellow SGSer and moved out of state to Colorado, my parents and I moved to Virginia, and my second brother stayed in our home state of Georgia until he finished college. I am open to moving if the Lord leads me in that direction. With my family all over the US now, I think it is important we get together at least once a year, but I'm not opposed to moving again.

Hi

I love what you have written. You seem to share the same passions I have about the evangelical church and the state it is in. Let's talk some more.

God bless,

Eugene
