I would like to have children one day.
I was in high school when the Lord opened my eyes to His grace. I didn't grow up with any knowledge of the gospel. I continue to be amazed that a holy God would call me to be His child. I'll keep this short in the profile, but there is more to the story...

The Doctrines of Grace completely changed my life. I started reading John Piper in my early 20's and had some good friends who were solid doctrinally who helped me more than they realize to begin understanding these doctrines. I also think a huge piece of the puzzle for me was when I started studying the bible inductively. The truths about God's sovereignty, election, man's depravity (and so many others) came alive to me when I started studying Scripture instead of just doing devotions and reading what other people wrote about it.

I am constantly amazed that a Sovereign God would choose us before the foundation of the world and pursue us to be his children.

I am reading through the New Testament right now. I also am reading What Jesus Demands from the World by John Piper while I drink my coffee in the morning. I enjoy studying the Bible inductively (I mostly enjoy doing Precept studies), but studying for my Bible classes has pretty much taken the place of that right now.
I am really encouraged by the story of Ruth and the way the Lord provided for her and Naomi. I go back to it time and again as a reminder of the Lord's kindness and faithfulness in times when circumstances just don't make sense.
At certain times in my life I have been content, but I have always desired to be married. I am trying (some days more faithfully than others) to find my satisfaction in Christ alone.
1. Someone who is trying not to waste this life the Lord has given me. 2. Someone who is comfortable living a fairly simple life. I guess they would say that I am not quite the normal "go shopping and fill your closet and house with a lot of stuff" kind of woman. 3. I think they would also say that I am semi-introverted...I am completely comfortable in large groups but what I really enjoy is sitting across the table from someone with a coffee and talking about what is going on in our lives or inviting a small group of people over to my home, cooking dinner...eating and talking late into the night. 4. I am a "processor" and like to think through things before blurting out my perspective.
I really enjoy discipling women. I see a huge need for young women to be discipled by older women and a lack of people willing to pour their lives into others. Some of the best times of my life in ministry have been the small groups of young women I've had in my home over the years and countless talks over coffee at Starbucks. Women need good doctrine and to be challenged to live boldly for the gospel.
I am most thankful for my little sister, for those in my life who have sharpened my faith, and for the Lord sustaining me through trials.
I really enjoy someone who isn't content simply to pursue the "American dream"...someone who is integrous and desires to be bold in upholding the glory of God by the way they live (though we are all striving imperfectly in this world)...I enjoy being able to talk about the deeper things of life.

John Piper. When I was in my early 20's, I read Desiring God. Reading that book was the first step in a complete transformation of the way I see God. The focus of my entire life changed at that point. I would say that Piper has helped to shape my biblical perspective on so many areas in my life, from missions to marriage. I truly believe that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. So, though there have been others who have impacted my life and blessed me in so many ways, I think this complete shift in theological understanding has drastically changed my life.

I also would say that the woman who stepped into my life when I was a lost and confused young high school girl and shared with me about Jesus Christ had such a huge impact on my life in so many ways. The Lord used her to open my eyes to his grace and truth as she poured her life into me. Everything that the Lord has done in and through me is because of her love and perseverance in my life during those years.

I read a book on the life and diary of Samuel Pearce. He wanted to serve on the mission field with his close friend William Carey, but the Lord called him to a different life... "To believe, to feel, to speak, to act exactly as God would have me; to be wholly absorbed and taken up with Him; this, nothing short of this, can make my bliss complete."
I have been a high school teacher, a missionary for a short time and now am pursuing a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling.

I want to live in such a way that I don't waste the life the Lord has given me. I desire to pour my life into young women-to teach them the Word and point them towards biblical womanhood. I also can't think of a better way to spend my life than serving the Lord as a wife and mom.

I enjoy watching a good movie or having a BBQ with friends and family. I really like hiking...especially in the Sierras and along the cliffs of the CA coast. Right now my free time involves reading and writing papers for my theology classes. Getting back into school mode after years out of school has been a wild transition.
On the coast
I have traveled on mission trips to Africa and Romania and lived in Mexico for a short time teaching and discipling women.
I love my family and long for them to know Christ. I don't have a problem with relocating.

Well, my favorite drink at Starbucks is a Caramel Machiatto...a hot one in winter and iced in the summer...I am a total creature of habit when it comes to my coffee drinking. I like watching a little football and basketball sometimes. I'm thinking about starting to mountain bike when I finish school...and wondering how many bones I'll break doing that!

Other things that may be good for you to know...Well, I am convinced that believer's baptism is biblical and don't see myself wavering in that. My home is in CA and I feel a little "land locked" in Kentucky.

Some teachers that I am listening to when I work out: John Piper, D.A. Carson, Russell Moore, and C.J. Mahaney. A couple missionary biographies that have shaken my world up a bit: Ann Judson (wife of Adoniram Judson)and Hudson Taylor. I am reading the Life of John Newton right now...really encouraging to read about how he endured so much and served so faithfully to the end. That is about it for now...
