I would like to have children one day, AND/OR would gladly accept others.
Though I experienced God working in my heart earlier, I was a 19 year-old university student when I was drawn irresistibly to the Saviour. I have many short-comings and faults, but look to the author and perfector of my faith, who has promised to complete the work that He has begun. My desire is to become more and more like Christ.
I am so grateful to have been "chosen from the foundation of the world" to receive his forgiveness and unmerited favor. I did have a spiritual detour under some misguided teaching, but it is liberating to embrace scriptural truth and sound doctrine. Christ is my Strong Deliverer! Trusting in the sovereignty of God is one of my greatest comforts in trying to discern the perplexities of life.
Yes, and the most blessed times are those when I truly can "be still and know that He is God". I meditate on the verses from Daily Light, which have so often encouraged and comforted me in my actual situations. I am reading the Bible "in a year" (though I always fall behind), currently using the ESV. I like to delve deeper using a Hebrew-Greek Study Bible and several commentaries (such as Matthew Henry) to try to understand a passage more clearly. I enjoy reading from devotional books also.
David, because he was a man according to God's own heart. He was humble and always inquired after the Lord before all of his decisions, not relying on past victories in self-confidence.
Yes and no. Generally, I can say that I have been content, but I admit that the natural desire for marriage/children does emerge on occasion. I wish to joyfully trust God for whatever He has in store for the future, whether that be marriage or continued singleness.
1) honesty/integrity 2) warm personality 3) striving for excellence 4) sense of adventure
I am most passionate about glorifying God in everything I do. I consider my profession not so much a career, but a calling to service. I seek opportunities to share God's love with those in my sphere of influence. I have a heart for internationals as I was such a student myself. I love travel and the outdoors.
1) God's grace 2) my parents who have raised me and sacrificed for me 3) longstanding, deep friendships
passionate about loving and obeying the Lord; godliness and humility; spiritual discernment; the ability to communicate deeply; warmth; wisdom/intellect; purity; seriousness balanced with lightheartedness and laughter; enthusiasm and joy. I desire to grow in these attributes myself.
Elizabeth Elliot-I have had the wonderful privilege of meeting her personally on more than one occasion. I have read most of her books and consider her a role-model. I appreciate her practical wisdom, her wit, her example of serenity in times of trial and her "old-fashioned" message on passion and purity. Others that have positively impacted me: godly Hungarian pastors whose preaching and counsel blessed me; dear sisters in Christ whose love and prayers helped sustain me; RC Sproul; Darlene Deibler Rose; Hudson Taylor; George Mueller, John Paton; Count Zinzendorf; Heinrich Bullinger...
He was a godly man, but our inability to truly communicate ultimately led to the end of the long-distance relationship. This was eight years ago. I still do not understand the outcome as we both sought the Lord earnestly in this matter, but trust that it was in God's plan for both of us to go through this difficult time of testing.
Can he have followed far who has nor wound nor scar? (Amy Carmichael); Be Still,My Soul; And Can it Be that I Should Gain? Come Thy Fount of every Blessing; How Firm a Foundation (all verses) and many more... I love the Great Hymns of the Faith, the Geneva Psalter and of the more contemporary worship songs, those that are reverent and doctrinally sound.
By the Lord's enabling I have graduated from medical school at the age of 23. I have been working as an internist specialized in nephrology (diseases of kidney function) for the past decade. I love the challenge of my job and the opportunity it provides to interact meaningfully with others and make a noticeable impact on their lives. I have become somewhat disillusioned in having to deal with the business aspects of medicine here in the USA. I have had the opportunity to work at a teaching hospital in New Zealand for almost a year. That was a time of respite and professional enrichment. Most of my patients were delightful people of Maori origin *UPDATE* After prayerful consideration, I have signed a contract to go back to New Zealand! I hope to keep in touch and continue fellowship despite the time zone differences!
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Eph. 2,10)
I enjoy reading: missionary biographies, books about believers who persevered under difficult trials and persecution, apologetics, theology, history, clinical journals, etc. I like talking over the telephone with friends for mutual encouragement and keeping in touch with family. I am learning new skills such as gardening around the old home I live in. I am always up for a spontaneous getaway when I can! I love the great outdoors, especially hiking while marvelling at the beauty of creation.
In a small town, On the coast, In another county
I was born in Texas, grew up in Canada, studied in Hungary, worked in New Zealand...I guess "home" is wherever I am, but my citizenship is in heaven! My father instilled in us a passion for travel at a very young age. I have taken extensive road trips with family in North America, visited most European countries, Egypt, Australia and New Zealand. I traveled around the world with my father at the age of 11 focusing mostly on Asia: Japan, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, Iran. The only continents I have not visited are South America and Antarctica
My father escaped communism at the age of 21, having given a public speech denouncing the secularization of the parochial schools. He is a retired Reformed minister and professor of languages. My mother studied classical philology and Romance languages, but stayed at home to raise three children. We had a strict European upbringing with a strong emphasis on academics. We were taught about the fear of God and the doctrines of grace (Heidelberg Cathechism) at church and through confirmation classes. Both my brothers are happily married. I enjoy being an aunt to two nieces and three nephews! I am open to relocating as God leads.

I have attended different churches in the many places I have lived: Hungarian and Dutch Reformed, Free Presbyterian, PCA, SBC (where my pastor was a Calvinist), and OPC (New Zealand). My choice depended on what was available and which one was the most faithful to the Word of God. My current scriptural understanding is that if I am to marry, it should not be to one who has been divorced. I do not judge anyone but rather grieve with those who hurt. I desire fellowship with all dear believers, regardless of their station in life!
