Okay, this is odd. I am not getting my email notifications as quickly as I used to. It's taking up to a couple hours for notifications to get through. Don't know if that's something to do with the code or what. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd mention it.
So I think I just figured this whole posting thing out. I think that Jay is on to something. It would be cool if SGS had an "other" catagory where we could fill in what we would like to say on issues. I personally am not a fan of the phrase "I would like to have children one day" being the closest things to what I want to say. It sounds like I am ok either way but I would prefer to have children. It is close but I think I would like it to say "I want to have children... when I'm married" Since Jay brought it up I nominate him to try and solve these issues :P
Since I can't think of a better way to word the current options, I'm leaving them as they are, but you can always explain yourself in your answer to the profile question that says "Is there anything that the questionnaire didn’t cover?"
Okay, so miriam and I were talking last night about some of the things we'd looked for on profiles, and we realized a possible improvement for the "view on drinking" answer. Right now, the answers "I don't touch the stuff" and "I don't like being around people who drink" have fairly similar connotations, namely an extremely negative view of alcohol. In our minds, either answer meant that this person would have a problem with us drinking. Might it be better if there were an "I don't drink, but don't mind others drinking in moderation," to set opposite to "I don't like being around people who drink"? Also, for those of who have a glass every night with supper, I wouldn't mind a qualification of "I drink regularly" that doesn't make me look like a drunkard. Thanks!
Had an idea to get the SGS membership up. Not sure if this has been proposed before, but maybe there could be benefits for referring new members. Like if you send someone a referral and they join through you, you get a free week added to your membership or something.
Good idea, Chris; we have already been planning to implement it, but haven't had the time to do so yet.

This wouldn't cost anything, and would boost membership (potentially increasing SGS income), and also we'd have people who already know each other in the membership, which might help with everyone getting to know everyone else.
If you require referrals to include a short written introduction of the friend, that might be even better.

Just a thought.
Well, that makes sense!
