I was raised in a very moral family and was taken to church when I was young, but there was no faith in my family. God brought me to a saving knowledge of himself when I was in 8th grade. My walk is good - by God's grace, I'm continuing to grow and learn. I know it's a lifelong process, and he'll continue the good work he began in me.
To know that my salvation does not rest upon me - to know that God is sovereign in all - what a burden lifted. The Doctrines of Grace show me all that I am (and that I am not what I should be) and show me all that God is. They show me that God has done for me what I cannot do for myself and that he will continue to sustain me to the end. This is what makes life worthwhile.
I try to have a quiet time every day. I'm using the ESV Daily Reading Bible to read through the Old Testament this year.
Moses. He was a man of many faults who was still used by the Lord.
There are days when I am content and all I want is to be alone in my apartment, and there are days when I struggle to be content and feel very alone. I must be content, because here is where God has me, but I'd like to find someone special.
loyal, funny, reliable, (I know that's only three, but I'm having a mind block and can't think of another one at the moment.)
I'm a middle and high school teacher and middle school supervisor in a medium sized Christian school, and educating teens and pre-teens is my passion. I want to help these children to know God and his call on their lives and to help them live all of their lives for Him.
Friends, Family, Faith (not necessarily in that order, and I should get bonus points for alliteration!)
I love a strong sense of humor in another person. I enjoy someone who is able to articulately speak of current events and of theology. Obviously, someone who loves the Lord. I'm looking for someone who wants to have a relationship based on shared interests and ideas. I'm not looking for someone who just wants a woman to listen to them pontificate on theology and life. I consider myself very well educated and read, and I'd love someone who will discuss ideas with my rather than just lecture me.
My friend, Judi. She lost a son several years ago, and her life has been a little unsettled since then, but her faith in her loving Heavenly Father remains strong, and she trusts in Him daily.
Many factors, but mostly differences in what we wanted for the future. I learned that God is the only perfect one and to keep my trust in Him.
"Let us not cease to do the utmost, that we may incessantly go forward in the way of the Lord; and let us not despair because of the smallness of our accomplishments." John Calvin "Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answers." Ranier Maria Rilke "Though much is taken, much abides; and though We are not now that strength which in old days Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." Tennyson
I am a teacher and middle school supervisor. As I said above, it is my passion, and I absolutely love it.
I want to continue reaching children for the Lord. I would love to have a house that is open to anyone who wants to enter. I'd love my home to be a place where local college students come for refreshment, where neighbors always feel welcome, where the neighborhood kids come to hang out, where missionaries stay when they are visiting. This is not possible in my small apartment, but someday.... I've kicked around the idea of moving to the West Coast, but that's not a goal yet, just an idea.
I love reading, watching sports, going for coffee with friends. I'm a National League girl, I can't figure out the difference between the NFC and AFC, I love ACC and Big East Basketball and I would be happy if the NASCAR season was 12 months long!
I was born in PA, but my dad was in the US Army, so I have lived in several states and in Europe. For the past two summers I've traveled to Arizona and California. I love it out there and would love to move there.
I am very close to my parents, who live 3 hours away. Because of my upbringing, I would be comfortable relocating.
Right now, planning my July 2009 wedding to Jesus Loves Me
Well, if you've looked at my pictures, you may be wondering about the wheelchair. Feel free to ask - I don't mind answering questions.
