John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Hello. Please, does anyone out there know if any such Seminarys exist that offer low cost certificates/Diplomas or Degrees by Distance Learning?

I mean bona fide Seminarys that can be depended upon and are truly accountable to the Lord Jesus Christ and could be honestly recommended.

I wish to study to be a an Ordained Chaplain but so far, I have applied to 6 and they haven't even bothered to reply. I have heard that many are just seeking to

obtain peoples personal information and the suchlike, and then nothing ever comes of any application. Or they ley you apply and then ask for an extortionate 'love offering' - it is terrible. I would appreciate any help and guidance, I truly would. I have 30 years experience in Evangelism, Bible Teaching, Sunday School, Youth Ministry, Preaching, Counselling, Missions and Church Maintenance,Cooking and Cleaning. Just no Bachelors level education. If you can help or advise, I would be so very thankful. Thank you.

Maybe ask a military recruiter? I think they require a college degree but not necessarily one from a seminary?

I personally like Reformed Theological Seminary.

RTS.EDU

Become a servant marked by sound doctrine and sincere love. Theological education to help you faithfully proclaim God’s word...

They offer online credited classes, but I think you'll need to intern with an accepted church.

Thanks. I live in the wilds of Ireland. Not too many Protestant evengelical Churches here that preach Salvation. I like RTS myself.

Thank you. All good and kindly advice. We have no veterans in Ireland since Ireland only has a peacekeeping role rather than a combatant role. Sadly, Churches in Ireland are largely cursed with Nepotism - favour is often meted out on the basis of Money, Position, Family, Employment etc., they all feature so very highly in terms of getting your Church to help you advance for God. That is the truth. It is painful to behold. Many Churches have simply closed their doors and died rather than to hand any part over to God's next generational choice. I will be honest and say that as a man from a poor family who never had any social position and having never had an important job then I have absoloutely no chance of ever getting any help to progress.  Free will is a concept and gift that is very often shamelessly abused by Christians far more than the unsaved and unchurched.

REV 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Welcome to the board Brother,

I'm sorry for not seeing this in December but I am sick with Multiple Sclerosis and have a lot of bad days since it has gotten so serious.  I never went past the Eighth Grade and have been Preaching and Teaching the Life Application of the Scriptures since 1992.  If YHWH has called you to Minister He is all you really need as Ruach, a.k.a. The Holy Spirit, will empower you and speak through you.  I have been offered Ordination when I was in my early fifties but refused because I had already been called ad like St. Paul, I enjoyed hard work.

I spent a lot of time studying before I was thirty and since my coversion, in '90 I study my scriptures, every day.  YHWH and Yashuah will bless you for eing willing to surrender and t follow their will.

Westminister Theological Seminary is my choice.  But I have to ask you, why aren't you searching the net for your information ? And being cautious too ?

Matthew, having served three tours, all three as a Volunteer, the results I came home with are largely my doing and I try not to cry about my stupidity as a young Warrior in service to my nation.  Right  now I am grounded as I wait to see how much of a One Time Grant I will get to help with this Eighty to better than a Hundred Thousand Dollar vehicle I need for moving around in.  YHWH has so blessed me that I fear not and I do feel a leading to use Fund Me if the Grant leaves to much for us to pay off.

Thank you for your expression of care and but for the MS I would still be a Craft Worker at some level.  My wife took my saws away from me because of my ability to slice my right side without pain.. imagine such a thing!  LOL!

Hi bill. If you're referring to the aid of the VA I personally cannot thank them (God's in control) for the assistance they have been giving me. Medications and a power wheelchair make life a whole lot easier. I cannot see that you would have any difficulty acquiring what I assume is a vehicle to get you around ordered by the VA . Is that correct ? Again , I'm praying for you brother .

That is basically it.  It is my understanding that this One Time Grant does not cover more than sixty thousand and depending on the Van they choose to be chopped and the method of loading they choose it can leave me with fifty to seventy short.  I have no idea how much the PVA might pick up.  I know one millionaire author, the author of Killing Jesus and the entire Killing Series donates all profits from the books to the Paralyzed Veterans.  I just need to wait and see and with eight years of service I know how to wait.. LOL.

Bill I too did not know of you disability, and I express my sincere and grateful appreciation for your service to the United States. If I may be so personal to ask is this total service connected and are you on VA Compensation?

I know getting expensive request approved takes persistence and determination. My Spinal Cord Stimulator cost the VA $200,000. This has made my back pain more than 90% better. I had to go around normal VA procedures, and did everything myself. My rating of 100% and homebound plus all my disabilities its over 200% my back is 80% alone. The old Choice program approved the Spinal Cord Stimulator, and the cost was estimated based on normal surgical implanting of the battery and placement of the device on my spinal cord. My surgery took much longer than expected, thus the unexpected additional cost. The battery charger was $2,500, and the channel selector was $3,700. I hope nothing ever happens to these devices,

In 2014 I was so bad I could not walk  more than 20 feet and not stand up straight. The VA suggested I seek a motorized wheel chair and a platform sort of thing to put on the back of our truck to carry it. The amount the VA was willing to give was so low and the platform thing was so flimsy. I begged to have water therapy, and declined the motorized wheelchair chair for the time being. I have managed to stay walking but I am bent over a lot. I have to stay active and walk as much as possible.

I said all this to say I know first hand how difficult getting things in the VA can be. I am blessed as God is so much more powerful than the VA system. At present all my seven specialists doctors and my primary doctors are Christians except for one/ My Primary doctor says he prays for me. When he got the lab and surgeons report of my cancer he shed tears as he read it to me and my wife.

In August I will be the first person  that Cancer Associates in Central Missouri has re-radiated for prostrate cancer, The cancer in my bladder is directly connected to the prostrate. So its a bad but good thing. I am blessed in so many ways.

I will pray for you Bill about the Van and you health. God bless you dear brother Bill.

I've found out that some primary care providers can do wonders for their patients . Sometimes they go overboard when you tell them of a condition that is bothering you. I end up by having a new medication ending up in the mail. But thanks to God that I don't have to pay for any of my medication . I assume that it would be very costly if I did. I'm praying for you brother .     M

 because

Good morning Trooper.  People in Church see me and, young and old, remark on my countenance and I do my best to explain that my years on stage and in the parking lots of many joints left me a bitter, bitter, man until sometime after my salvation experience.  It took some serious study to realize the only thing I ever, truly, owned was and is my countenance.

But today I realize that if I could get happy (stoned) and play Rock, Folk and Country under the never ending Rocket Attacks every other night or so, I can be happy anywhere.

The MS ended my playing the guitars but I can jack my VA supplied bed around so I can play one of my harmonicas for my kids, grandbaby and the great grandson she and her Baptist Young Husband made to play with me.

And then I run into colks like you that are so much worse injured than I am.. I am a man blessed of YHWH and fully trusting in Him I, just, go forward.

I was Regular Army for two months short of eight years. Vietnam, too many dead Pilots, Crewchiefs, Gunners, Grunts and Foolish Politicians that refused to let us win a very winnable contest convinced me to change directions and just quit.  And so I did.  I was beginning to drag my right foot, even, then but nobody could diagnose  why.

I pray our Heavenly Father will pour out His blessings on you and yours.

If my wife and I had to pay for the meds I would just die and that is the truth.  The LORD is blessing us all that we might serve Him.

Bill my medicine on the outside is very expensive in addition to what the cost is for the VA meds which I pay $ 0. The Magnesium infusions I get every week are $1,000. and the Chemo shot I get every six months is $2,000. I see four doctors outside the VA all are specialists. I get from my PCD  a list which has all my meds and the cost for which the pays for each for a month, its over $1,600. and the VA pays a lot less than what you pay at a pharmacy.

I see how God was in control from the minuet I joined the NAVY. Things I thought was the ignorance of the government and me being sent to ABE "A" school when I was "guarantee" Drafting School, I now see Gods big picture plan for my life.  In seven days I turn 74, and I truly can understand how the paths I took were preordained, even though at the time I was sure I was making them. But that's how it is when we are truly a Sheep of His.  Now I see reading Scripture as a joy and I am excited to have time to spend reading the WORD of God. Now rereading the passages I have read so many times before, seem so fresh and speak so deeply to my heart.

I have said I want the Christian Flag over my casket after the viewing. At the cemetery I want the Military send off and the flag given to my Bride of 50+ years, and then the Christian Flag put back on the casket. Then my pastor will give his closing remarks. I have never seen a Christian Flag on a casket and I want my funeral to demonstrate the great Salvation of Jesus Christ, and that my life was for and about my LORD Jesus Christ.

I can't imagine a life without pain and suffering, and the awesome reality of seeing Jesus Christ face to face, say nothing of bowing before Yahweh. Oh what rejoicing that will be for me. No more tears for loved ones gone before me. No more anxiety of the future and what it holds. Oh what Glory that will be!
