John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Is Dispensationalism a valid way to interpret scripture?  Or is it "too new to be true"?

In any event, this "many ways" belief doesn't reconcile with Sunday school Christianity!

Unfortunately, the "many ways" might actually represent what is taught in some Sunday School and Wednesday evening Bible classes in the states.  I have heard reports from friends in the states that at some so called Bible studies all the participants are able to voice their own unique opinions on the verse and at the end the leader reassures each participant that their varying/differing opinions are each correct. Of course I am not sure if the reports from my friends are 100% actuate.

I don't know, either. Doesn't sound improbable, nothing much surprising. It almost sounds like there's some methodology being promoted, if this is occurring in a number of Bible studies, from some quack "Christian" psychobabble, perhaps somebody wrote a paper on? I've never known a Bible study leader that states everybody is correct, so would wonder if this is widespread, but Bible studies can get weird. There are extremes. Another extreme is somebody running a Bible study that's angry and rebuking, which, even if they're correct in their doctrine, is evil behavior, especially damaging the young. This discourages their speaking and learning, recall one such Bible study I joined when very young and left, after one visit, appalled that the person leading the study was acting like an angry, rebuking cult figure, a real control freak, and everybody else intimidated by him. But there are ways to address somebody that needs greater understanding, than stating they're correct, for instance, agreeing that a verse may seem that way, then offering another view, in terms of other scripture, but also offering that you understand and appreciate somebody's contribution, can appreciate how something may be confusing, etc. You must not lie to anybody, but neither discourage anybody, most especially the learning young. Still, it's very wrong to say anything you know is wrong is correct. I wonder if this person is going overboard, trying not to offend people learning? Then again, that's not a very fine line sort of bedside manner! And it's not honest, truth always the bottom line. Welcome to the 21st century? It is really amazing how far off the reservation a lot of organized, Christian religion is getting, in mainstream denominations. It seems there's somebody in a dog collar, willing to scratch any ear that itches, anymore.

Then again, there is always the upside, to the true believer, born of the Spirit, that He will lead us out of error, into all truth, John 16:13. It's my experience, my own and of many others I know, a person of the Spirit can only be bamboozled so much and for so long. In fact, lies are more for those that love and believe lies, in the first place, ears that itch for what they want to hear. When you think about it, the deceiver is merely deceiving themselves and others they can deceive, nothing accomplished, if the audience is somebody that receives lies and already unregenerate. Put it this way: what has a deceiver accomplish, when lies don't stick with those of the Spirit, if even they manage to convince an unregenerate of their lies, an unregenerate that has already refused the gospel truth: what is accomplished? If the person is already lost, they, what, exchange the lie they're already living, for another? Seems more like a cat chasing its tail! I mention this, as you see a number of Christians so fretting false prophets, in a lather they must nip every lie in the bud, lest some believer get perverted. The Holy Spirit is quite powerful enough to tend to these things. The devil is not going around, snatching believers from the strong hand of the Lord Jesus, this nothing to fret.

2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Timothy 4:1-4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
