John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

😮 My profile says I posted to a "Member Map"? I have no idea what that is .. so how could I have posted to it?

Would someone please explain what this is, and why it says I did this when I don't even know what it is?

When you include your location in your profile your profile is synced with the member map. The member map shows areas [not exact locations if you only put in your city and state] where members are located. You may go to the member map page in order to remove your marker if you don't want to be included. The member map simply provides a general overview of people located in your area. Exposure is desirable if you want people to find and contact you. Agree?

@Mary1577979507 Thanks Mary. Maybe someone will chime in for us? If not, we will just keep looking. (I see you are from the UK. I spent a day there a few years ago. I Loved it.)

God bless.

@Spiff Maybe William will point us to the right direction at some point! 🙂, tried the search again and failed miserably.

Where in the UK did you visit? It has some beautiful places! Wales, the Lake District,Scotland... to name a few.

...I was in London and just loved the people and the architecture. You are right about the beauty. We don’t have beautifully old structures like that in the US. I was especially excited to visit where some of my favorite preachers preached (M. Lloyd Jones, Gill, and Spurgeon).
What would you say is the best place to visit there?

@Spiff William is one of the SGS staff.

Do you recall where in the UK you visited? You should visit Wales, most places in Scotland and the Lake District, so a lot to cover 😊

Never been to the US, would like to visit New Zealand.
O, side note, you should visit the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London where Spurgeon preached.

Mary. I was only in London for a day but the Metro Tab was a definite highlight for me on my visit.
What about New Zealand stirs you up to want to visit? Is it the landscape, or are you a Lord of the Rings-nerd? 😉

@Spiff New Zealand, from pics I have seen, has beautiful landscape! I hope to visit one day, should the Lord tarry. I like green spaces and I live near a forest so plenty of space for long walks.

@Spiff Hi. It appears that the member’s map got lost during the migration process ( to this new site). They hope to brig it back soon.

I hope that helps! 🙂

@Spiff Hi Daren,

It might be a while, in the meantime, there’s always the member search!

On a different note, when you visited the Met Tab, did you visit their bookshop?😊 I could spend hours there. Did you hear Dr Peter Masters preach? He has been a minister there for over 40 years! Still going strong. I use to attend that church and it’s there that I heard/ learned reformed teaching. Dr Masters recommended to me my current church when it was time for me to move on.
