John Calvin puts forward a very simple reason why love is the greatest gift: “Because faith and hope are our own: love is diffused among others.” In other words, faith and hope benefit the possessor, but love always benefits another. In John 13:34–35 Jesus says, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Love always requires an “other” as an object; love cannot remain within itself, and that is part of what makes love the greatest gift.

Why I Believe by D. James Kenedy. It's solid apolagitics for literal Bible believing Christians.

And I've been reading in the book of Romans.

At the moment nothing but last month I read Angels: What the Bible Really Says About God's Heavenly Host by Dr. Michael Heiser.

That is great, wonderful.  I have read all his academic books and papers.  I have even email him a few times on certain topics and he has always replied.  I respect him a great deal.

I have just finished reading Traveler, by Richard Adams.  Traveler was the horse owned by Robert E. Lee and the book is a fictional autobiography.  It is an interesting look at the Civil War from an equine perspective.

I think I'll reread The Complete Yes Prime Minister by Jonathan Lynn and Anthony Jay. I've read it several times, but not for a while.

Hey folks it could be any kind of book or story. I, myself, have read all of Edgar Allan Poe's short stories and poems many, many times. Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories are my favorite.

I'm reading through the book of Numbers right now . To my surprise the number of persons and the task they are assigned to are extremely large . For instance God told Moses to number the men over age twenty to serve in the army . After taking a certain number from the different tribes the total came to slightly over six hundred thousand men. I have always believed that the tribes in Israel were small in number . Including women and children the population would be in the lower millions .

I've been reading through studies in the sermon on the mount by Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones since the end of July. Powerful reminder from matthew chapters 5-7 of how a christian ought to live, quite challenging yet necessary.
